How do i fix my capacitor fault on my tricity bendix TM 551 tumble dryer?

Hi my drum won't turn on my dryer unless i manually turn it then it starts to go round perfect until i turn off the dryer then the drum won't go round until i move it manually again. I have done some research on it and it points to a fault with my capacitor how do i solve this problem and where is it located

Hi,
I have just had this problem, replaced the capacitor and now the dryer is working but there is no heat, whereas there was before??!! As the capacitor spades were not marked I presumed it could only go in one of two ways...could incorrect wiring be the problem?

I have reset the red 'cut off', however it appears to be ok and none of the vents are blocked.

After scanning the web I will be switching the connections tonight and checking the fuse near the exhaust duct(if there is one)...Anything else I could try before going into the realms of duff elements or power problems?

Search Google images "motor start capacitor" and you will soon see what they look like. In your machine it will probably be very close to the motor and large enough for you to spot it.

Take care to have the power of the machine of course but be aware that the capacitor may be holding a charge that could give you a nasty shock so be sure to short out the terminals to allow any remaining charge to disspiate.
