I was in my home attic today and noticed one of the rafters is severely twisted and seems to be pulling away from the decking some. It's not twisted down by the soffit vents, but starts twisting halfway up until it reaches the gable. What can I do to shore up this rafter?

Your local building control office should give you help on this one. I think it will involve strapping with steel either side to straighten it.
