i had engineer round who said the calorifier needed replac.ing to make hot water work properly.would this be correct and what does a calorifier do inside the boiler
It's a water to water heat exchanger.
It may need to be changed. An expert in boiler problems should know and be confident in his diagnosis. Ask him how confident he is - tell him your wallet needs to be protected.
