what is distance between batten centres to fix 12" x 6" slates?

as above
Dennis Turley, December 2008
if the length is 12", then it is 4.5" centre to centre. as with most slates, take lengtn of slate, deduct 3" then half remaing length. i.e. 24" slate minus 3" = 21" halved is 10.5" does,nt matter about width

www.praticaldiy.com click on left 'General Building'
scroll to roofing and select felt and battening
do search for slate tile battening for your size slate.
It seems a narrow one for slate is it not clay?

Also the Marley tile Co www.marley.co.uk click the left hand display page 'visit website
When in website click on the top box of 'Our products box' select roof covering ie:slate or clay tiles. take it from there. or if you do not find what you need then concact Marley they will assist.
