hotpoint WAM76 does not spin?

My hotpoint WMA 76 will fill with water, agitate then the "On" light comes on the panel, the machine then empties of water and stops.--- Belt ok, Brushes ok, Pump ok

Either the motor has gone (most likely), or the timer unit is faulty.
