loose zoom button (dosn't return) on Casio Z850?

Hi. I have a casio ex-z850 which I think is excelent, but al of a sudden the zoom button has become very loose. From zooming it dosn't return to the middle position, the other way it does. Is it easy to fix or should I return it to casio, and if so does any one have any idea how much it will cost?

I had the same problem that ended up with me loosing the top buttons altogether. I just found them and it took me about an hour to get the positioning correct to get it back on.
Even though it stays on now it's still quite loose.

I would suggest getting in there with a pencil and moving the little connecting pieces to the correct position and trying to click it back in before it gets worse like mine. I wish I could show you pictures but there are little pegs that connect to the outside ring (zoom piece) (the pegs are underneath the ring) and all you have to do is line them up.

Sidenote: if you don't understand what I mean either try googling pictures or just send it in. Might be safer to send it in if it's still under warranty.

hello graeme im afraid your camera will have to seek professional repair. i would recommend that you send it back to casio. as for the price try requesting for a free repair estimate. you may have to send your camera to them for this. try sending emails to the relevant casio aftersales service including photos of the camera in its current state. sorry i couldn't help you but i hope this may help solve any queries you might have.
