Why does the picture fizzle out?

I have a Bush IDLCD32TV16HD tv that I bought on the 27th Oct 07. When I turn it on the BUSH screen displays but then I hear a fizzle and the picture just disappears. It's like the tv is on standby but not. There isn't any sound either. Any reason why this is?
It says in my documents

'that I had a full years guarantee on this purchase and in addition, we have teamed up with specialist insurers Domestic and General to give you an additional 2 years' peace of mind'

Does this still mean it's under guarantee?

Any help would be fantastic.
Thank you

Thanks so much for that link. You're right. It should last longer than 14 months. Im just not very good at this kind of thing being a young female! Don't really know much about it and how the heck would i ship it off if needs be!

I'll let you know how i get on.

Thanks again Andrew

Hello Felicia,

I don't know about how to fix your TV, but I'd advise you to have a good read of the documents to ensure that there is no additional charges which will be applied to any repair of your TV.

The best thing you can do is to phone up the helpline and find out what help they are willing to offer you, which will probably be a visit from an engineer.

Although the Manufacturer's 1 year guarantee is expired, you are entitled to a product which will have a reasonable life expectency, which for a TV is way more than 14 months.

Good luck
