My HP Pavillion won't startup the screen remain black. ?

You can hear the hard drive clicking ,but nothing happens. I can't access the Bios or anything else. I thought the problem is with the graphic card, but I 'm now leaning towards the AC adapter. Can someone please offer some suggestions.
Thank You

try removing the battery and then hold power key down for around 30 60 seconds reconnect battry plug in mains adapter and turn back on.if this fails turn off again and turn upside down remove memory module cover its the large cover in the middle 2 screws one end and rubber foot at the other undo the screws and the cover slides forward the 2 modules are ontop of each other held in by 2 clips 1 left 1 right push them apart and the cards lift up take both out and then put them back.push them home and they will click into place.if this also fails then the cause is most likely your motherboard.best luck rob
