During recording the dvd would not turn of or stop. After power down it asks to recover last recording, either confirm or cancel.However nothing works. No bottons on the rc will do anything. After plugging in it can only be started with the rc. Then bact to recover last recording confirm or cancel.
Help, before it goes in the bin.............

I have the exact same problem. Very frustrating. I find I also have to prise the CD tray open with a screwdriver. I recommend smashing it to bits with a hammer.

We're getting exactly the same symptoms regarding the power down problem. We also get problems with disc errors when playing back what we've recorded. We thought it may be down to the quality of the discs, yet the same disc will play ok in our Phillips dvd player. It cannot be trusted to record anything.

We've got the same recorder! Somedays it will record, other days it won't, I hate it! The rc hardly ever works. We wanted to record our family videos to DVD but we can't make the darn thing record from our VCR. I can't even find a website for Matsui to see if they can help. Would never buy another! Have you sorted yours yet?
