how to open my back door?

My back upvc door is locked shut the keywill turn but the handle will not pull down to open but will push up, any ideas?

try taking glass/panel out and forcing the door on lockside up and down at same time pushing handle down,if no joy then locksrip most prob failed and best to call a double glazing engineer or locksmith to sort it.hope this helps
