Loose toilet seat Villeroy & Boch Subway?

I have C&B toilet seat which is loose how do I tighten it.
Jack, December 2008
The answers already given are accurate and effective. The only thing to add is that the Villeroy and Boch toilet seat easily lifts off the two metal studs fixed to the toilet for cleaning and maintenance. This makes the job of tightening easier.

Thanks for this answer, it worked a treat! My wife wanted to call a plumber to fix the seat... saved a bundle just doing this myself.

When you look at the circular silver support for the removable seat, you are actually looking at a very tight cap through which the support stud passes off centre. This cap needs to be gently worked up (I used the very end of a screwdriver to tease it off) to reveal tightening screw below. The cap then clips snuggly back on. Wish we'd done it sooner.

you need to carefully flip off the stainless steel circle where the pins come through with a very fine flat head screwdriver between the porcelain and the hinge. Underneath is a crosshead screw that is also hexagonal shaped. The toilet seat originally came with a small spanner to tighen. You can really tighen these without causing any harm.
