Where is the infrared port?

Where is the infrared port on my Windows Millenium computer?
I dont have a clue where it could be!

If your PC does not have an infra red port it will probably have a four (or 5) pin socket on the mother-board marked IRDA. You can find out more in the motherboard manual, which you can usually download from the motherboard manufacturer's web-site or driversguide.com. You can buy a plug in USB infra-red port or if you have basic electronics knowledge, it is easy to build an internal one to match the mother-board port using an infra red TX device (three connections - 5v data+ data-) and Rx device (similar connections). These are available from RS components etc.

Terry,
Normally desktop computers don't come with infrared ports. You must add them. They can be purchased and installed in a serial or usb port.
