My son's TVR-185 Matsui TV.Video is stuck in Standby. It powers on and then goes into standby. Pressing the ON button on the remote gets a short whirr on the Video, a Click on the Tube and then it goes back into standby. Any advice welcomed. My opinion is that the EEPROM is stuck and needs replacing - advice on where I can get this also welcomed.

Sounds like the flyback transformer has gone. They do go because they are highly stressed. Its a professional job to replace them due to the extremely high voltages involved. If you are not trained, do NOT even think about opening a TV set. No idea why you think that its an EEPROM or even why you think that it has any EEPROMs.
