i was told my gas cooker is leaking gas and has been turned off at the mains of the cooker. what do i need to do? who can i call to be on the safe side

Unfortunately there are very few people who will trace and repair a leak on a cooker.Transco will come out but just cut the appliance off.Chances are it will be the thermostat or the taps will need greasing,but expect to pay wads.Nearly as cheap getting a brand new cooker.
