It's likely the temperature control is at fault. This with older F/F would be thermostat controlled, located in the fridge compartment on the right hand side.
If you have a control unit that look's the same unscrew it and look to see if you have a capillary wire running from the stat, if you do then make a note of the wiring and get a universal cyclic stat to replace it. If not and there is a block connection of wires and no capillary then it is sensor controlled, this is a problem and would suggest you call the makers repair people. It will cost but would be cheaper than you having a go and messing it up.
