Noise with central heating?

The central heating system in the flat above me has a continual noisy pulsating sound every two minutes. I feel as though I need to wear ear plugs all the time. The owner has had plumbers to investigate and they can't seem to find the problem. Can anyone help?

It's almost certainly one or more of three things.
1/ Fan making god awful noise
2/ Pump on boiler
3/ Pipework on central heating pressing on a joist.
Just got to look and listen, it's not rocket science...
