My problem is that the screen says `There is a problem with you sky viewing card` even though I have a new card for it.

You could save a fortune like i did - dont fone sky - go to Freesatbox.net the bloke on there was more than helpfull and i now have my box reset as it was from new - free channels from all over europe - no card - no money - no Murdoch - now thats what i like ! assuming you have the card in correctly (blue side facing up, yellow arrows pointing inwards) and into the correct slot( marked veiwing card, not interactive card) all of which i have seen many times before. it sounds to me like the card reader in the box has failed. you need a service call!

The best people to talk to about this are Sky. They are usually very helpful.

BTW sometimes new cards new up to three days to activate.
