My siemens siwamat 6140 wont spin, what do I need to look for?

These machines usually need the brushes and shocks replacing together.If the drum does not turn at all (from the start when in wash cycle it should slowly after taking in water) but a loud click can be heard from the Pcb then the brushes need replacing euros20 a pair and simple to replace.Motor is held with 2 bolts accessed via removing back cover.Replace the 2 shocks as they are probaly dead also and your good for another 10 years.if the PCB is faulty it will turn from start but not spin,equally if there is too much water in the drum it will not spin so let out via the bottom filter (pump behind the plastic panel located ground level).Always disconnect the machine when operating on it!

How long do you have it? I got it 6 and a half years, we overtook it after we bought this house. So I have no idea how old my machine is! It works sometime only, moreover sometime it does not take the detergent! I am thinking of buying a new one,
