Hotpoint FF92 - thermistor fitting?

I have a Hotpoint FF92 BL and have the (seemingly common) "fridge-not-cooling-but-freezer-is-fine" problem.
The fan & compressor seem to be working fine so I took heed from another post on this site (http://www.howtomendit.com/answers.php?id=9710) and have ordered the two thermistors mentioned (2601683 & 2600283).

The question: Where are they in the unit? Can anybody help with where to locate them so that I can go about fitting them? Do I access them from inside the unit, round the back etc?

Many thanks

Check on-line to see what they look like. I spent a long time looking for them only to find I was looking at them all the time. A round yellow thing with plug ins next to a round white thing with plug ins. I have not done the job yet but at least I know what to buy....

I had an E8 error message and ordered a new yellow thermister replaced as above. Hey presto - it worked!

Replacing the two thermistors sorted out the problem. Has now been running fine for about 3 or 4 weeks. I had to do the work before I read your post - but did manage not to damage the coil attached to the back of that steel panel that covers the evaporator.

Not being an engineer but having a little bit of knowledge (often a bad thing!) it does seem strange to be changing freezer components to fix the fridge part. Still - so far it seems to have worked a treat. Thanks to all on this forum/other posts for assistance.

I have exactly the same problem with my FF93 fridge/freezer. Although I have not yet tried replacing the thermistors, I have managed to find them.

If you remove the drawers from the freezer, the inner rear panel can then be removed by undoing the 4 fixing screws (2 top, 2 bottom). This will reveal the freezer (green) thermistor in the centre just below the fan.

Loosening the 2 screws (top left & top right) will then allow the fan assembly to be eased forward permitting the removal of the polystyrene panel. The steel panel underneath can then also be eased forward (careful, as there are cooling(?) coils fixed to this near the bottom!!). This should enable you to see the evaporator (yellow) thermistor, clipped to one of the main cooling coils, on the right hand side.

As I said, I haven't replaced my thermistors yet, as, until I discovered this site, I didn't know that was the solution to what appears to be a common problem. I would be interested to know how you get on, any problems encountered, and if in fact this cures the fault.
