Is it a large capacity card ? e.g. 2GB
Does your camera work with other cards of the same size (storage size ,that is)?
Did you format the card through the computer or camera ?
It may be that the camera does not support cards with that storage capacity.
Have seen faulty cards,not very often though-is it a well known brand?-check manufacturers site for known issues.
Can you connect the card directly to computer-using a card reader,to see if it is recognised.Will help you establish root cause.
Have managed to get some cards to work using file recovery software,some can be downloaded by typing in
free file recovery software
BEWARE though,my computer flags up a few of the sites as unsafe or potentially harmful. Good luck
