Washing machine fault?

Hitachi Washing Machine model PAF-1260PX
Wont do an automatic cycle. Set to automatic it fills with water, does the wash cycle, drains, starts to fill with water for the rinse cycle and stops.
Then to continue it has to be done using the manual settings

sounds a little like you have set it to a rinse hold program.check that the settings haven't been set by accident.
