How can I remove the waste pipe on my Creda 1200 washing machine?

My puppy has chewed the waste pipe on my machine, I have bought a new pipe today and thought it would be a simple job to replace it, but upon removing the small back panel and exposing the pipe connection, I realised that it is fixed very securely with a fitting that I'm not familiar with and I have no clue how to go about getting it off.

I normally do any household repairs myself and don't really know anyone who could have a go for me and can't really afford a plumber, if anyone can offer any advice I would be grateful.

squeeze the 2 tails on the clip together, with this will cause the clip to expand jiggle the clip up to the thinner part of the pipe now twist to remove the old pipe off the pump.
Put the clip over the new pipe allow to slide down towards the larger end,now push the hose on to the pump fitting now using your pliers squeeze the tails and pass the clip up the pipe till just short of the end.
check for leaks

i would think about cutting the old clip off using a pair of side cutters (aka snips). it sounds like the fitting is not removable, they are put on at the factory and require a special tool to remove and replace. if its the fitting im thinking off, then once its removed and the pipe replaced, just use an ordinary jubilee clip to secure. i can assure you thata all the engineer would do :)
