Wht kind of stitch, needle and thread do you use on a seam to repair a mink coat?

Hi, If by hand, I use a special fur-needle...chisel/knife point usually only available to buy from a furrier, then I use polyester thread doubled, knot ends together. Then the stitch I use is always blanket stitch as its more like an overlocking closure rather than just overcasting, much stronger. all the best, Cheryl Jackson Furs, Australia.
