When I put a DVD into my DVD player it sometimes skips. I've tried cleaning the DVD with eyeglass cleaner or with a window cleaning product. It helps some but doesn't really resolve the problem.

Someone told me getting a new DVD player would resolve it. Is there anything I can do with the old one that would fix it? Like apply an anti-static product, or something like that?
