Holes in heels of socks?

I constantly wear out my socks at the heel. Can you buy stick on re-inforcements for sock heels (I'm no good at sewing)?

The cause, in my case, is not the shoe but rough heels. File off the rough stuff and then rub in a skin softener every few days (the manuafacturers say twice a day!!!) to provide heels as smooth as a baby's .....

my husband constantly does this and we keep buying new socks. On examination of all his shoes discovered two pairs were worn and rough inside the shoes at the heel place. So,it is better to stick a new insole inside the faulty shoes and save buying new socks all the time. This is why they wear and make holes at the heel all the time I suspect.Hope this helps.
