can i fit second hand?

my sat receiver box ,is losing channels ,when i phoned sky they want £160 for new box and fitting.My question is can i buy a box independent from sky and fit my self.

Yes. However, as Sky have been so 'helpful', you may want to consider leaving them and using Freesat. (www.freesat.co.uk.)

Freesat has no subscription and a Freesat box will simply plug in to the cable from your existing dish. You can get SD boxes for about fifty quid. HD for £120, and a Hard Disk Recorder.
