Cuisinart Food Processor DLC-8Plus?

Even though the work bowl is fully locked into position which engages the motor when the ON switch is depressed, the machine will not run. I have removed the bottom cover and have manually moved the blades in the motor observing that there is no obstruction. Also, I have observed that no wires appear to be disconnected or "burned." Is it possible that there is a problem with the Restart feature of the machine? If so, is there a replacement part? Does this number help--BO869894? The processor was purchased in the '80's.

There are two ceramic sticks in the housing... They are resistors, and they heat up when the motor runs for a long time. There is a thermal switch wedged in between them, which opens when it gets too hot. Usually, it will close the circuit again when it cools down, but it doesn't always work the way it should. You will either have to replace it, or bypass it. If you bypass it, you will have to pay special attention not to overheat the motor.
