How can i fix my Panasonic NN-A514A Microwave Oven?

Recently my panasonic microwave oven NN-A514A stopped working. Whenever I try to cook something (on microwave only) it goes for 10-20 seconds, a crackling sound is heard and then it shuts off. Can you help? Thanks!

I have the same problem on a Panasonic MN-T553W. I cleaned out the vents and still no joy. Advised may be the magnetron. Costs for a repair would make a new machine more economic.
