Mira 723 Shower! ?

The on and off knob has become very stiff and difficult to turn on and off can you help please!!!!
Mrs J Betts, January 2009
Has anyone a drawing of the inside of a mira 723 my on off switch is very stiff and i want to repair this myself with a new overhaul kit

Gary Wells, July 2009
Hi Mrs Betts
You need to contact Kola Mira in Cheltenham and order a overhaul kit for this particular model. It consists of washers, seals and silicone grease. There will also be a diagram of all the parts. There are no diy instructions but if your careful and collect all the bits and put them on a newspaper you can identify them from the drawing. Two tips, part of the internals is a subassembly with a big nut on it that you need to slacken(to further take apart). You can only do this whilst it is held in place in the shower mixer valve.Secondly, when you have it all apart, remove all the seals O rings etc and put all the copper internals in a jug with a solution of kettle descaler; You might think there is no need to do this as no scale is evident but i have found this imperative. Then wash off and dry, then grease all the internals particularly the rubber O rings as you reassmble.

Good luck Richard
