How do i rewire lead on Dyson DC04 at the on/off button?

The lead on our Dyson DC04 needs rewiring as the outer sheath is damaged and the 2 inner wires are showing. This is just as the wire enters the appliance. i am not sure how you get the cover off to get to the switch.
