i have the exact same problem!! i tried everything at yet it still states cover open, when the cover is not open! i dont know what to do...!

Printers often refuse to work if a cover is open - they have little switches to tell if the cover is properly closed - sometimes the switches break or move and give a false indication of an open cover. Look to the little switch.
