Oil/Gas mixture for Montgomery Ward chainsaw?

How can I determine the proper oil/gas mixture for my saw, a Montgomery Ward TMY 24064B, 2.0 cu inch?
Gary Brumbelow, January 2009
MY MONKEY WARD 2.1 Cu In SAYS 16-1 Too !!! I had 35-1 1n it !!!! Thanks to the guy who said the cap said 16-1.If I hada put 50-1,it woulda burnt up!THANKS (Forget my earlier blog ...it's BS)16-1 and the new synthetic seems better than the old stuff..since i'm almost 60 and we used to use motor oil,and it clogs the ports lika Bas---d !!!! About 35 to 1,it is NOT "modern".Monkey Ward went out of buisness in 2001.If if fouls the plug,Change the plug to the proper heat range and size and change the oil to a modern, smokeless (I guess the are ash free)synthetic 2 stroke oil.You do not want to run those little ba----ds too lean on oil or fuel. All this info is available online,I just got a 12" wards chainsaw and in another 15 minutes I'll know who made it.

i recently had a montgomery ward 12 inch chainsaw come in an it has a 16:1 fuel mixture. it was printed on the fuel cap and under the air intake cover

All depends on the recommended dilution ratio of the oil you are going to use. It has absolutely nothing to do with what machine it is going in. It's a popular misconception and quite wrong.

The manufacturer of the 2-stroke oil will give you the recommended dilution ratio for THEIR oil as they are the best informed to ensure the correct protection their oil will provide.

50/1 mix will most likley foul the plug. most saws runn well at 40/1 mix

No Way! Only the most modern engines were made to run on 50/1.

MY rule of fuel:
Breaker ignition 16/1
Solid state 32/1
50 to 1 ONLY if it says so.

It will work on a 50-1 mix
