I was just about to begin a dubbing process from video to a blank DVD, never done this before but the manual indicates it's fairly easy. However...I can't get the container of blank disks open! I've tried everything short of a stick of dynamite. But I don't want to damage the disks inside. Tried sliding the inner notches back and forth, expected the case to open just like a pkg. of blank CD's. It seems to be impossible! The brand name is Maxell, by the way...

Anyone have some ideas??

I had the same problem. The grooves have notches on either side to prevent the case from spilling open. But all you need to do is put more force on the twist--like you're opening a jar of peanut butter. The clasp will slip past the notches all around the base of the case.
