how can i fix a dripping carron phoenix mixer tap?

I have a Carron Phoenix mixer tap in the kitchen, are there any spares available???. The design is the tap only turns 1/4 of a turn from off to full bore. The internals consist of a rubber ring type washer, a brass ring, an "o" ring, then a brass disc with two triangular holes which line up with two triangular holes on the rotating part to allow the water to pass through, which then blanks the holes as the tap is turned off. will I have to purchase a new tap or is it repairable?????

If it is dripping from the spout then you might just need replacement valve (hot or cold depending on which side is dripping). If it is dripping from where the spout meets the base then you might need to replace the O-Rings. We stock Carron Phoenix Spare Parts www.tapsandsinksonline.co.uk on a sale / return basis.

My experience with a Carron mixer tap was that I started with water coming from the base of the pillar.
Took it apart and cleaned everything up, put it back together and the seepage from the pillar had stopped but I had a very drippy tap. Again took it apart and I had a small rubber washer and 2 plastic discs loose in the tap, It didn't take long to realise that all that was required was 1. a new rubber washer and/or 2 tighten the tap up a bit more. A most pronounced leaky tap has just got completely eradicated thanks to a small extra turn on the tap with a mole grip.
Hope this helps somebody.

...My Carron mixer tap is dripping from the cold water side and I was wondering if a Saturn MB6008 replacement cartridge will fit and work ok?

Central Services (01782 599258) are still very helpful - dealt with my query in about 2 minutes (though I did know my part number - 1212 for an Opus tap)

Just fixed my Carron Phoenix at the cost of £19. Plumbers, spares stockists and even Carron, told me the ceramic disk valves (as described by you) were not available. However, eventually contacted Central Services (UK) Ltd in Stoke and they supplied new valves. Phone them on 01782 599258 and ask for part 1212 (you get left and right). The guy I dealt with, Anthony Westerby, was very helpful.

Yes you can get spares. You need to know what tape it is, so talk to Carron (spares) 01324 638321. They will give you the phone number of the supplier. Which could be ( in my case) Central Services 01782 599258.
