Why is my Matsui DTR1 playing a red and black image on my TV?

My Matsui DTR1 is about a year old. This week it started sending black and red images to my colour TV. It is not the fault of the TV, which displays full colour images when the freeview box is turned off. Why is it doing this, and how can I fix it? Does Matsui have a helpline phone number?

You have the Freeview box set to use its SCART socket in S-VIDEO mode, but the TV set to expect RGB on its SCART socket.

Go into the menus on BOTH items (TV and Freeview receiver) and set them both to SCART-RGB if available or failing that both to SCART-S-Video.

Possibly, you either have a loose RGB connection of the scart lead between Digibox and TV (ie. only red connected), or maybe you have CVBS Video/S-Video (input to output) mis-matched.

Make sure scart lead is secure at both ends and/or try a different TV scart input or check it's input setting corresponds to the video output signal from the digibox within the menus.
