How do i fix Cistern Mechanism Double-control Round Button the buttons were stuck and i tryed to twist it off but it wouldnt budge for me so i pulled the main top off ond the screw part of the barrel is now snapped off what can i do to fix this problem?

Two things take digi picture of the button mech and show pic at bathroom supplies/ plumbers or take the lid as it is.

I always say 'take no pics and you'll forget how to put it back'
If you take digi pictures each stage of work you can't forget how to put it back'.
