Can the audio system on my 54 reg MX5 be rescued once the antitheft acts?

Following a battery recharge on my Mazda MX5 and attempting to re-code the CD/radio the antitheft system was activated. Can it be rescued or how cheaply can I get another one installed?

Does the system show blinking "ERR" message on the display?

Mazda says that you must purchase a new system because your old system is now useless.

However, this is not always true.

Most Mazda radios have a hidden unlock feature that can override the anti-theft.

Try this:

Step one:- press one at a time- preset 6, AM, Auto M, Seek ^ (up).
Step Two:-Input this number, 1414.
Step Three:- Press and hold Auto M and Preset 6 together.
Step Four:- The Word 'GOOD' will appear on the screen indicated that the radio will work.
Step Five:- Reprogram new Antitheft code into radio as per instrution manual.

Post here if it does help or not... if it doesn't help, I can give you several other possible solutions (another sequences of pushing buttons).
