Any idea where I might find replacement letterbox flap springs? ?

The tiny springs that operate the letterbox internal postflap on my PVC door have somehow broken off. As a result the metal flap has fallen off. I'm loathe to fork out for a new complete letterbox - any thoughts on how to fix/replace the item? The rest of the letterbox is fine.

Sorry if I'm late with this suggestion. I take it that the leterbox is flapping? I had the same problem. uPVC door. I found that the inside flap is the same as the outside flap. I just swopped them. (You'll have to take off the soft 'insulation' part from the outside one and glue it to the inside one before you switch them). Problem solved, no more noise from flapping.

Did anything help as I have the same problem. Anglian said I should try B & Q but they couldn't help and as you, I don't want to buy a whole letterbox just for the sake of a small spring.

try using the spring from a cloth peg

I have a similar problem. A DIY shop suggested buying an old fashioned mouse trap and adapting the spring from that. I haven't tried it yet.

You could try a double glazing shop but doubt it it's something they just don't keep as the turn over must be 1 every 10yrs and many different types, you will have to resolve and buy the full unit.
