pilot light on but boiler not kicking in?

We have a potterton boiler. The pilot light is on but the bolier will not work. I noticed that the thermostat had been turn up pasts its normal 30c. Could it be that the thermostat has burnt out and that's why the boiler will not work??

If the pilot is lit but nothing else is happening it has to be an electrical problem. It could be a motorised valve that isnt opening. If you have one on the system there is a lever on the side of it.Push against this with the boiler in the on position. If you meet any resistance the motor inside has blown. If it is slack and has opened you need to check to see if there is 240v at the gasvalve as it could be the solenoid.

if its your room stat that is on 30 try turning that down to 15.
