how do i mend the programmer?

The programmer will not operate and \i have to work it manually all the time. How can I get it to work or can I get a replacement?

You should be able to get a new programmer. Just make sure that you match the type, but get an electrician to fit it if you aren't knowledgeable about mains electricity. Once programmers go they are not usually easily repairable.
