Can't recode my Vauxhall CDR 2005 VDO radio?

I've got the code and the audio manual but still can't re-code. I'm following instructions in the manual but when i get to "press the AS button" nothing happens. Therefore I can't get to the bit where you have to enter the code.Has anybody elsehad this problem

Hi - very late to reply (and probably too late for the original poster) but this happened to ours and you have to wait a long time for the code entry dialogue to appear if it is up to retry number 7. I can't remember how long, but I think it was around 30 minutes so it just needs patience.

I am having the same problem - I had to work on my car which involved disconnecting the battery. I have the code and the manual and have tried to input the code. Initially I appear to have input it incorrectly but I only tried it 2 or 3 times before I got worried. I left it a few days, and today when I tried again the display just read '7 Code' and pressing the AS etc etc got absolutely no response from the radio. What do I do?
Help!!!!

Yes, similar problem, when I press the AS button the number 7 appears in front of the word SAFE and remains instead of changing to CODE. Is this a problem with the AS button? Sorry I'm not much help.
