If it's an Amstrad DRX 180 or 280 I know they had lots of problems with the power supply unit failing on them. My brother used to be an engineer for sky and they used to have lots of issues with these models. If you look on ebay you can pick up replacement psu's to fix them, buy at your own risk though. Best thing is to get sky out to it and get a replacement box, at least you get 3 months warantee with it and if they insist on giving you another AMSTRAD ring them up after 2 months and tell them it's broken again!.
