pc running slow

david, April 2009
go to www.google.com, find and download these free programs:
Spybot search and destroy

Cleanup!

Run them both, this will help get rid of most of the junk on your computer that is causing it to be slow.

Now Go to Start>Control Panel>Performance and Maintenance>Rearrange items on your hard disk....>click on Analyze and if it says you need to degrament, click on that as well.

Your computer can run slow for a number of reasons, but in my experience this will help the majority of people.
If you are still having problems feel free to email me for advice on how to fix your problem cheap or in most cases free. bobmwade@gmail.com

For a complete and simple 'maintenance' of the system try running the free scans from Microsoft

Doing the complete thing will take a long time (since it does do the defragmenting, malware scans, etc as well)

Click Complete Scan and follow directions, once scans start, go make lunch or something and come back to check once in a while if it needs anything.

try doing some disk "housework" this always helps.Go to start, all programs, accessories, system tools, disk clean up. Follow this up with the disk defragmenter program which can be found in the same place. The temporary internet files, cookies and other temp files fill up the folders they reside in, and eventually cause slow downs and clog ups. Need more help ?
