potterton netaheat 10/16 overheating?

Hi i have a potterton netaheat 10/16 that keeps on overheating, it seems like the pilot light is not going out when it should so after 20mins there is a rush of boiling water going into the header tank in the loft. Plumbers in my area don't seem to be familiar with this boiler, does anyone know anyone in the Hayes UB3 area that has experience of this boiler that can help?

Sounds like your gasvalve is failing to shut off properly. This boiler does not have a permanent pilot and is auto ignited,so if the flame should be going off but a small flame is staying on it is fairly dangerous and needs turning off, until you can get someone to look at it.Big problem though the boiler is virtually obsolete.
