electrolux enn26800 fridge not cooling?

freezers working ok but fridge isn't
joanne, February 2009
I am having the same recurring problem, approx every 2 -3 weeks having paid almost £70.00 to have the freezer deforosted. Not helpful, I could have done that for nothing!

I have now discovered that leaving the fridge door open for about 10 minutes - until the internal light switches itself off - seems to kick start it so possibly there is a timer problem which I need to have investigated. Anyway, this appears to be a quick, if only temporary, fix so good luck.

I had similar problem with my Daewoo FF. I took all shelves out of the freezer and the plastic backboard off. The fan was behind (Which pumps cold air to the fridge) but it was all iced up so couldn't turn. I set my hairdryer on it and melted all the ice. When I had put everything back and plugged back in - it worked fine! give it a try

turn off and defrost for 24hrs with both doors left open and see if the fridge starts to work.if it fails again it could be a faulty defrost system
