Today my shower will not power on,

Problem:
when the pull cord is pulled on and lit, then i go to push the power button on in the shower, the pull cord light switches off, hence no power to shower.

Does anyone no if its the shower itselfs faulty or the pull cord switch? Thanks

shower disconected for tiling now reconnected but no water comng out the no water taps and loo fine
