Vauxhall Cavalier 1995 running problems???

hi, my car is running rough, when you drive the car hops and coughs and you have a total loss of power, the car has been serviced. oil, oil filter, engine flush, HT leads, air filter, fuel filter, spark plugs. but still the same problem. the problem seems to be worse when run under 1/3 of a tank. even with more fuel the car still does the coughing and jumping. when pulling away the car nearly stalls, having to use lots of revs and slow clutch. CAN ANYONE HELP ME??

Don't forget the ignition system - spark plugs/Distributor & rotor ... that spark should be bright blue at TDC or the firing point. Are you losing compression? Warped head ... blown head gasket? The fuel/air mix + correct fuel ignition makes for a happy engine!

check fuel filter is fitted correct way round, could be fuel tank blockage.look for split air pipes under the bonnet.my guess is fuel tank because of your description, also fuel pump could be failing or a kinked fuel pipe usally around the fuel pump.if all looks fine take it to get the fuel pressure tested
