Just had this issue. Door Handle broke (snapped inside). Washing machine was full of damp washing too!
1. Switch machine off at wall, unplug!
2. Remove Top Cover:
Undo the two screws at the rear that secure the top cover. Lift the cover from the back about an inch, then pull back (it hooks at the front).
3. Unlock from inside
Look down into the machine, the door lock is a white plastic thing (a locking mechanism) with wires coming out.
There is a sprung metal hook on the door that hooks onto this plastic lock. Feel it with your finger, the tip of this hook you will see/feel at the center of the white lock. To unlock, pull the hook towards the middle of the machine. You will struggle to do this with just a finger, i used a flat head screwdriver, held just below the blade.
