selfcleaning feature on Norelco steam iron?

Can anyone fill me in on how to use this feature?
Should the heat be on? Should the reservoir be full?
When does one press the button? How long should it take?
Please help me........

Per instruction booklet:

Turn Steam Dial to position 0 (Dry Setting).

Fill See-Thru Water Window half full with water.

Stand iron on Heel Rest and plug in cord.

Turn Temperature Control Dial to maximum setting and allow iron to heat up.

Turn Temperature Control Dial to OFF position.

Remove plug from electrical outlet.

Holding iron by its handle, bring iron to a sink and hold horizontally over the sink.

Press Self-Clean button located under the iron handle on the body of the iron.
