I have a Stihl TS400 petrol grinder.
It starts absolutley beautiful when cold!!! But just will not effing start when warm, Ive cleaned the filter and checked spark plug, fuel mix is correct, what else can I do other than lob it across site with all my might and nearly taking out an unsuspecting electrician.
Any help appreciated, thanx in advance.

Hi There, I`ve had these saws do this as well. After you have turned it off hot and you have let it cool down for more than a couple of minutes, try starting it again with full choke and throttle set open. It will start and then die immdiately. Turn off choke and start again and see if it fires up - always works for me.

Could be plug and or plug lead.
We had vans that did the same thing played up no end when warm the effing things wouldn't always start until cooled down. Mechanic checked the plug leads [new carbon centre type] found the wire insert picking up the current was burnt. Changed back to copper wired leads with the brass pickup disc in the distributor and had no problems after that.
I have e-mailed Stihl to see what they say. Will post their answer Meanwhile here's the details of Stihl incase you haven't got them.
